Allen Organ Studios (London) Ltd is a British company established in 1969 to handle the sales, service and hire of Allen Organs in the U.K. To date, some 4000 instruments have been installed in various buildings including churches, schools, crematoria, concert halls, and private homes. Spare parts for every Allen built since 1937 are held in stock, and no organ has ever been taken out of commission because it could not be repaired. The reliability of Allen organs is renowned throughout the world, but here in the U.K., full credit must also go to our team of service engineers around the country who are controlled from the main office near High Wycombe.
Every month we receive many new enquiries, which are answered personally and promptly by a team of qualified organists who have many years' experience with the company. In addition to sending out relevant information we offer a free, no-obligation advisory service, and on-site demonstration if required. We would be delighted to visit your building to offer advice on the size of instrument you should consider, as well as the optimum position for any audio system. Following this initial survey, we would then send through a written report as a basis for future discussion. Ultimately, we feel that the best way to ascertain how suitable an organ and its organ builder are for a building is to have an on-site demonstration.
The benefits are two-fold :
Firstly, it gives all those involved in discussions about the organ a chance to explore its capabilities for themselves without relying on hearsay, or having to travel to another installation.
Secondly, it allows us to evaluate the layout and acoustics of the building so that we can confirm our initial recommendations. If only every organ builder offered this service! All aspects of the installation of a new Allen organ are dealt with personally and are not contracted out to other companies.
Organ Hire
Another important service we offer is the hire of Allen organs for short or longer periods of time. Most often, instruments are hired for concerts, recordings, broadcasts, weddings, graduation ceremonies, or even while repair work is being carried out on a pipe organ. We have a large stock of new Allen organs available for hire, ranging from small and compact 2-manual instruments to large 3 and 4-manual models. When we hire an organ we do not just deliver it and go! The organ is voiced and regulated inside the building just like a fine pipe organ so that the end result is as good as possible. We are also on hand to give training to the organist, if required, and to answer any questions that may arise.
